1. Overview
The Moon Knows ("we", "us", "our") operates themoonknows.com. This policy explains what information our astrology, Book, account, email, checkout, and keepsake features use.
2. Information You Provide
- Birth and creative inputs: Names, dates, times, places, coordinates, quiz answers, poster text, and design choices. Astrology calculations and artwork are normally generated in your browser. Anonymous Book and chart state stays in your browser unless you sign in or use a feature that explicitly saves or shares it.
- Optional account and Book data: If you use magic-link sign-in, we store your email address, account timestamps, purchases and entitlements, membership or credit status, and the minimal Book state needed to resume across devices. We do not use passwords.
- Email subscriptions: If you opt in, we store your email address, name if provided, signup source, and delivery status so we can send requested letters, product messages, and marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
- Payments: Dodo Payments processes checkout as our merchant of record. We receive transaction identifiers, purchased product metadata, status, and purchaser email needed to deliver and recover access. We do not receive or store full card or bank details.
- Support: We process the details you include when contacting us about an order, account, refund, or technical issue.
3. Information Collected Automatically
- Service logs: Cloudflare may process IP address, browser, device, request, security, and diagnostic data to host and protect the site.
- Analytics and advertising measurement: We use Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel to understand visits, traffic sources, and funnel events. Those providers may use cookies or similar identifiers according to their own policies.
- Location search: Place searches are sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to return coordinates. Do not enter private street addresses you do not want sent to that service.
4. Browser Storage and Cookies
We use local storage for chart, Book, preference, and device entitlement state. Optional accounts use a secure, HttpOnly session cookie. Google and Meta may set analytics or advertising cookies and similar identifiers. You can clear local data in your browser, block non-essential tracking with browser controls, and sign out to remove the account session cookie from that device.
5. Why We Use Information
We use information to calculate requested astrology and artwork, save and restore your Book, deliver purchases, operate accounts and subscriptions, send requested emails, prevent fraud, provide support, measure product performance, and comply with legal and tax obligations.

7. Retention and Security
Anonymous chart and Book state remains on your device until you clear it. Single-use sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and account sessions after 30 days. Pending checkout claims expire after 7 days. Account, purchase, and email records are kept while needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, handle disputes, or until a valid deletion request. Providers retain their records under their own policies.
We use access controls, signed payment webhooks, opaque purchase claims, and secure session cookies. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing. You may unsubscribe from marketing email using its unsubscribe link. Clearing browser storage removes anonymous local state from that device. Requests may require verification of the email associated with the record.
9. International Processing
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Their contractual and legal safeguards apply to those transfers.
10. Children's Privacy
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
